How The STUDIOS PDQ Instant Home Studios System Protects Your Privacy.
We have now come to expect that video calls with our family, friends, co-workers, clients and teachers is the new normal. However, what most of us were not prepared for was that these video calls would be quite frequent, involve so many different levels of individuals and showcase our personal space.
In some instances people have found themselves interfacing over video with a colleague only to then have to transition into a parent-child teacher conference. Even weirder might be a group chat with the parents of all of the students who were all, unexpectedly, in your home (so to speak)!

While some people claim that their number one fear is public speaking there are still others who dread having their private lives and their ‘home’ on display for, essentially, perfect strangers. Yet, as we have all realized with the advent of the ubiquitous video call, our homes have been opened up for inspection whether it’s for work or school. Our once private sanctuaries are now being telegraphed to our co-workers, clients, classmates and more.
In other words, not only are we on display via the video conference call but the same can be said for our personal and private living space. Our living space is now communal. We have gone from sharing the corporate footprint of workstations and conference rooms to the actual confines of our private homes.
While it is true that we often truly enjoy the company of our colleagues, classmates and clients, there was always a line of demarcation between home and office or home and classroom. That is no longer the case. In some instances we are actually “inviting” perfect strangers into our homes and, further, there are times that we don’t even know who is on the call. What’s more is that the “sharing” of personal space is not always reciprocal: how many video calls have you been on when some of the participants are not “sharing” their video?!
What’s more is that in some cases we are being recorded during these calls whether we know it or not.
Imagine that you are making a presentation via video and your image and your background are fuzzy? What is that conveying to the customer? Imagine that your home office is your dining room table and the hutch in your background has family photos, trophies and your family china? Where then is your customer actually focusing his or her attention? Is it on your presentation or your knick-knacks? Well, this is the new world of video calls so we need to accept and embrace the new reality.
The migration over to mandatory “at home” working seemed to happen overnight and caught many of us unprepared. However, when the transition from the corporate footprint occurred, the employee guidelines and protocols were still in effect. The only difference now is that your current “workstation” or classroom in your home provides a direct and immediate insight into your personal and private lives.
The STUDIOS PDQ Instant Home Studios System was created to protect your private lives from public scrutiny. Period. Human nature is generally inquisitive; there is nothing strange about being interested in how another person structures his or her life when outside of work or away from the classroom. However, the decision to invite people into your personal space must reflect the same parameters that were in effect before people were working from home and follow the same protocols.
The privacy of your personal space is the mission of the STUDIOS PDQ Instant Home Studios System.
With STUDIOS PDQ you can rest assured that we’ve got your back!
